Google TV is a definitely upgrade to the aging Android TV interface and works just as well as Fire TV or Apple TV, even more so if you use an Android phone or tablet. The Sony A80J is also new enough to adopt Google TV for its smart TV experience. It boasts a true 120Hz panel with HDMI 2.1 inputs for 4K 120Hz support for the PS5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, as well as variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM). The X95J also features XR Triluminos Pro (wide color gamut) and Dolby Vision support. The local dimming on the X95J is exceptionally good so good in fact that it's better than many high end QLED and Mini-LED panels from rival brands. The X95J has full-array LED backlighting with local dimming. ![]() The X95J has a lot of premium features that allow it to excel at HDR content. If you wanted to stick with Sony, the only better route would have been to spend $3K or more on an equivalently sized Sony OLED TV. ![]() Yes, the Sony X95J is a 2021 model, but it was Sony's best LCD TV in 2021. ![]()
